Why do the same people that support illegal immigration also support Universal Healthcare?
But, those same people that are saying that are also supportive of Universal Healthcare since some people can't afford it. Be it for themselves or their children.
Well, if we use the same argument that they use to support illegal immigration, couldn't we say that those that don't have health coverage did it to themselves because they didn't go to school and get a better job?
Couldn't we use that argument on any other social service? I mean, if you aren't going to care about those that are TRYING to support their families (even though they work at/near minimum wage) why care about those that need anything else?
I don't understand their logic.
Screw those that are working for low pay since they didn't go to college, but support every social system that gives people money for not working.

The reason you do not understand their logic is because of fallacious reasoning. It is a double standard. In many political issues, people will tend to favor one side over the other for the sole purpose of what benefits them specifically. Their opinions change when they are not directly affected. It is a hypocrisy that they are usually unaware of. Being that their ideas are formed for emotional reasons rather than rational ones, they are not likely to change their minds after being presented with evidence displaying their double standard(s). Its doubtful the people who have lost their jobs to illegal immigrints could have afforded decent healthcare with the amount of money they would be making at the jobs that were taken from them

But I do think we should have universal healthcare so that i can start taking my kids to the doctor instead of just going to the emergency room all the time. There aren't enough different hospitals to go to,.

Illegal immigration isn't the cause of poverty in this country- that's a ridiculous thing for anyone to say.
Universal Healthcare means that nobody ever shows up to a an emergency room and is left to die because they can't afford insurance.
How does that screw the poor?

I'm not for illegal immigration, quite the opposite. I'm for a pragmatic solution that recognizes the economic dependencies on unskilled labor from Latin America and the idiocy of the current legal system.
So, why am I for that and universal health care, because I'm for what is best for the American economy. The sad fact is that employers are having to devote a larger part of their income to pay for the HMOs of workers. Small businesses are seeing that they sometimes cannot hire quality employees simply because they cannot pay for the health care that large employers can. It would spur both small and large businesses if there were some form of minimal health care paid for by the entire population through taxation. At the same time, the economy relies upon unskilled laborers from Latin America. Creating some permanent work status for these people will aid them in finding stable employment and once again help small business owners.
The result is that both proposals are good for the entire economy of the United States. For examples, see California who has seen larger growth under the pro-immigration governors of Davis and Schwarzenegger than the anti-immigration govs that preceded them. In addition, look at Massachusetts whose universal health care (not socialized medicine) proposal has largely seemed so far to increase the ability of employers to aford employees. Both proposals will work...I could care less about the metaphysical or ethical concerns underlying them. Its not because it is right to care for peopl or anything like that, they are good for the entire economy.

tell Anti. if you cant afford to have kids, dont have them. I have worked in the govt providing healthcare and the biggest problem we have is kids who have kids and cant afford them or illegals who come to the US to have thier kids. This has to stop. I think you should have to have a license to have a kid. Yes it may sound harsh, but we waste billions supporting people who do not deserve it.

Not necessarily. I am VERY much pro American and want people to come here the RIGHT way...which you know because you have answered many of my questions and we see the exact same way about illegals.
But I am also for making sure that all AMERICAN CITIZENS has medical insurance. IMO, it shouldn't be held over your head to get what should be your right to get. My mother's medical insurance jumped to OVER $500 a MONTH after she was diagnosed with cancer...it was still well over that even after being free of cancer for 15 years and was considered "Cured". That isn't right to me, and I don't think that people should have that held over their head...just to try to help heal themselves so they can be a productive person to society. People don't realize that this is the reason why gas is so expensive over in Europe either...it is heavily taxed to pay for the health care there.

I think that many people believe that universal health care would be free. It would NOT be free. If they realized that they would have to pay for it, they may not be so eager to have it
