The economist and demographer Alfred Sauvy, in an article published surrounded by the French magazine L'Observateur, August 14, 1952, coined the term Third World contained by referring to countries currently called any "developing" or "under-developed", especially in Latin America, Africa, Oceania, and Asia, that be unaligned with any the Communist Soviet bloc or the Capitalist NATO bloc during the Cold War (1945–1989).[1] Today, Third World is synonymous with adjectives countries in the developing world, regardless of their political status[citation needed].
Third World be a reference to the Tiers 'Etat, the (Third Estate), the commoners of France up to that time and during the French Revolution — opposed to the priests and nobles who composed the First Estate and the Second Estate. Like the third estate, wrote Sauvy, the Third World have nothing, and "desires to be something", implying that the Third World is exploited (as be the third estate) and that its destiny is revolutionary. Moreover, it conveyed the second concept of political non-alignment with neither the industrialised Capitalist bloc nor the industrialised Communist bloc.
"The economically diminutive countries of Asia, Africa, Oceania, and Latin America, considered as an entity with adjectives characteristics, such as poverty, high birthrates, and monetary dependence on the advanced countries.
The French demographer Alfred Sauvy coined the expression ("tiers monde" in French) within 1952 by analogy with the "third estate," the commoners of France in the past and during the French Revolution-as opposed to priests and nobles, comprising the first and second estates respectively.
Like the third estate, wrote Sauvy, the third world is nought, and it "wants to be something." The occupancy therefore imply that the third world is exploited, much as the third estate was exploited, and that, similar to the third estate its destiny is a revolutionary one."

Who's the them?
If you're looking for the definition to Third World Country it'd be:
1.The developing nation of Africa, Asia, and Latin American.
2.Minority groups as a whole in a larger prevailing culture.
It just overall technique an undeveloped country
There not referred to as third world anymore, they are very soon developing nations i believe. Either that or diminutive.
The reason self is because of the infrastructure of the country and the GDP of the nation. If its under a particular point then they are referred to as "Developing" Nations
It's an antiquated permanent status. The First World were the Westernized nation (USA, Canada, Western Europe, Oceania and Japan), the Second World was the former Soviet Bloc nation and Third World the underdeveloped countries.
It's a Western occupancy to try to portray the superiority of Western, democratic/capitalist nations.

Really?? there's abundantly of things to analyze, like the population who can read or not, the population cover by key services (water, communications (not Internet), electricity), with access to form services, and specially how many citizens have a home (true not detrimental, not just ceiling over their heads).
Many of this countries own beautiful cultures, greats colloquial reserves, beautiful places, and lovely culture. But many times this general public loose their priceless cultures to take a "better ones" similar to all that come from US, EU or sometimes Japan.
A lot of priceless cultures are lost forever 'couse the people who know it, cant initiate it for their own child, 'couse those child want to look like rappers, rock stars, or sometimes similar to supermodels (both male and female).
It give attention to the "world culture", its destroying all of what we must be, and renovation it like the Spanish did when pinch control of America (all the continent, include all most adjectives US and Canada), when they pay near useless things for gold and food. Like we buy today useless things beside something like gold ingots.

theres also a term set as second world countries, which are third world countries in a ways of nouns, like chile. theres also cases resembling china that are amazing, and went from man in abundant ways a third world country to a first world country in around 20 years.
i guess a good judgment to call it that would be that man in canada and afterwards in cuba must have a feeling like a different world completly?
