People are angry and want action. The outcry and response fro Americans about the Senate's pile of "horse poo poo" was amazing.There is so much anger against the illegals. I hate how some are coming back and asking why do we hate Mexicans. Why are we racist against Mexicans. We don't "hate Mexicans." We hate the fact that we have 20 to 30 million illegal aliens, most of which are Mexicans.
We can't be racist against Mexicans since "Mexican" isn't a race. I'm just as angry about an illegal Canadian as I am about an illegal Mexican.

and yeah, the wall's only 700 miles long... but, it's gonna be in the most crossed and weakest area of illegal crossing. and you combine that with MORE border guards that actually have some authority, and cameras, and detection equipment, and unmanned aircraft... it will work. even if the border is 2000 miles long. that comment is just stupid.
and our economy is the strongest in 6 years due to 1) the war, 2) the internet, and 3) lower taxes.. not due to illegal immigrants.

Recently, ID cards were being made and handed out to people w/o ID so they can get bank cards and other documents. The plight of the illegal is NOT over. I don't think illegal immigration will ever stop, every time a measure is put in place (ie. a fence), there's always a loophole of some kind that is discovered. Besides, without illegal immigrants, who would do all the nasty jobs in the United States? I doubt ranchers in New Mexico have any caucasians working on their properties under the desert sun!! And the taco you picked up during lunch hour was probably made in a kitchen as hot as hell where few people would work for 4 bucks an hour.
If I can allow myself to bring up a side point on the subject, can you Americans stop associating the problems you have south of your border to Canadians. It seems like a lot of people think Canadians bring the same kind of immigration problems to your country as you have with Mexicans and the other southern countries. So, once and for all, JUST BECAUSE WE ARE NOT PART OF THE USA, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE BRING IMMIGRATION PROBLEMS TO YOUR COUNTRY. Most people here wouldn't trade places with an American for all the money in the world.

Actually, it is only the beginning but at least we were heard and I have faith in the American people! They will find a way to get our laws enforced. There are way more of us than the illegals and it's not over until we say so! So yes, it is the end of the line for illegals, they should start packing soon.

we are not even close to the solution, if anything we are still in the same place, some lawmakers think by trying to be tough on companies you can end immigration, did you know that their is still a large number of illegal immigrants that work in homes off the books?A lot more have their own companies or work under the table in family businesses, the solution is either to deport all illegals (which is unrealistic and not possible) or table the matter again in the senate which I can foresee

Not only does this amnesty bill (and any future amnesty bills) need to be killed, but we ALSO have to make sure all the illegals now in the country (and i mean ALL, including those who have been here for the last forty years!) need to be DEPORTED!!
Having no amnesty plan (yet allowing these illegals to stay) is almost as bad as this rediculous amnesty bill the have been trying to FORCE on us!

I think you got that all wrong. Is the fence really being built?? Are towns actually "taking matters into their own hands?" Have you heard of New Haven, and have you heard what's going on in Hazleton? So you are jumping to a fantasy conclusion where you think that things are being done about illegal immigration.
The ones more likely to win are the Democrats, which are leading. And not all American care really too much about immigration, and those are the ones that are for politicians that are in favor in Reform.
