We have sent that recorded delivery so that it arrives with them in the morning
They say its being processed n just awaiting that document but Im so scared it will not come for weeks.
We were plannin hols of a life time for 2wks in Carribean leavin aorund 10th, now we'll be lucky to get 7days in europe the wk b4 uni starts :( Anyone applied recently and had a quick passport bk?

I went in and paid £90 extra to get it done that day, but mine was a replacement. I really sorry hun.It will take at least 2 weeks. It sometimes comes earlier if the place is not that busy, but it is the same time that everyone is trying to do the same as you.Good luck though hun.

Now is a good time to be getting a passport as the pre summer hols rush of people have all been done, so they should process it pretty quickly. When I got my passport it took a week to get it.

We applied for renewal and got them back in 5 days but wqe did pay for the check and send throught he post office costs £7 but they check and send the documents for you and notice any mistakes this would have saved you some time.
If you phone them and be nice, they will sometimes help find where it is in the system.
In future, make an appointment at the Passport office in Victoria and they will do the whole thing on the same day for you.
Alternatively if you send it away you can pay an extra few quid and get a fast turnaround.

The very first thing to do is RIGHT NOW get on the phone to the passport office and book a walk-in appointment. (must book appointments a few days in advance). Telephone number 0870 521 0410. They guarantee to get the passport to you within 7 days of the appointment but we took ours away that afternoon. We used the London office and it was very efficient. We only had a 10 minute wait or so in the morning and they let us come back 4 hours later and collect it (however ours was a replacement so it could be different in your case). However, the telephone service was extremely helpful and I am sure can answer any queries you have. Their website is good too. (see below)

If your bf has not had any passport before this could involve and interview and the passport office does not offer the option of fast track ..
However my experiece is that they generally issue passports quickly if there are no issues.
You are probably in for a chance to make the 7th, I seem to remember the last application I made taking about 6 working days.
Maybe you should check out december holidays just in case...

my mother in law was due to go to new york last friday, 4 days before, she realised her passport was expired, she wen to the passport office and they did her an application and the passport arrived in 24 hrs, she was able to go.
