DAR's reading it correctly. Legal permanent residents are allowed to file immigrant visa petitons for spouses, minor children and any unmarried sons or daughters, in the F-2 category. However, if the unmarried son decides love can't wait and marries before the green card holder becomes a citizen or the petiton is valid for use, ie. reaches its priority date, then the petition becomes invalid and can no longer be used.Anyone married your illegal alien boyfriend in New york? A long time because green card holders cannot really petition for anyone I don't think. I am not 100% certain though.

If I am reading this chart right, they are right now processing those visas filed in 92 for Mexicans, 96 for the Phillipines and 97 for other countries.
So roughly 10 years at that rate, however, it depends on how many have applied since then. It is a category with limits per year, and there are a lot of people who want to come.
