If they are legalized do you think they are going to continue those low wage hard labor jobs? Hell no! They are heading straight to the welfare line to get on assistance. That will cause a FLOOD of “new legals” applying for government assistance which will cause problems within itself and eventually cost us the tax payers more money to support them.

I think that every single one should have to go through the system like everyone else to become an American citizen. Ship all of them back to Mexico and wait your turn to return. Most I have talked to don't want to become and American citizen they just want our money. We have no money left because it has been given out to all the ones who have never paid a dime in. I agree with you. I've lived through one amnesty of illegals (Reagan's) and it not only didn't work, it INCREASED the flow of illegal aliens.
I think citizens are starting to draw their own lines in the sand on this issue. It's time to make politicians and businesses pay attention. Despite the fact that illegals entered the country illegally, a sane society would overlook that. Why? Because sane people would realize that the illegals came here to seek a better life, in the form of jobs, and that many of them are the mothers and fathers of U.S.-born citizens. Sane people would say this isn't much of a problem. Close the borders, stop the illegals, and embrace into our society those who are already here and who are contributing to society. Sane people would say that this country has much bigger problems at this time, such as an illegal and immoral war that is costing us three billion dollars each week, with a total price tag now approaching one half-TRILLION dollars. Sane people would say that illegals had nothing to do with the WTC, that they did not cause the war, that it's not their fault that we put a moron in the White House, and that this issue is an example of scapegoating on a par with the Nazi's treatment of the Jews. So the sane approach would be to run checks to see which ones haven't committed any crimes after entry, and, choosing those who haven't, swear them in as citizens of this country, a country that might, just might be comprised of people who are not infected by the hatred and ignorance that has spewed forth from the White House.
America WAS NOT built by immigrants - it was built by Americans. so right now you claim mass deportation is the answer, right? Well look at the market reports and the unemployment rate. The economy is slowing down and with the growing national deficit due to the war in Iraq mass deportation would most likely be a huge blow to the economy. Most illegals are Mexican but around 30-40% are not, how much time and money would it cost to fly them home?

Removing that many workers from the economy would definately bankrupt many businesses and money wouldnt be flowing through the economy.
Look at how the foreclosures are effecting the economy right now...how much more devistating would it be to the economy if it was a national witch hunt...
You can close and secure the borders and be against illegal immigration but dealing with 12 million people is a completely different issue.

Corporate crooks are at least partially blame. It's interesting that the "free" market never works in most Americans favor ever. The illegal immigrants are to some degree being lured here by false promises. Our government has failed us again on another issue. Big surprise. But this issue is very complex. I have mixed emotions and thoughts. The government must act in a way that protects Americans. But it always sells us out. It doesn't care about us. We let it get away with it by not taking action. We all need to come together and fight for what we want. We need to fight hard against all of the corruption. It is a lot of work. But it's worth it, isn't it?

Amnesty for illegal aliens is not the answer to the illegal immigration problem, as proven by past amnesties, it only encourages future lawbreaking, and it ends up costing the United States taxpayers billions of dollars, as proven by the 1987 amnesty, when illegal alien criminals leech into our social services and national safety nets for more hand-outs and freebies, as proven by the 1987 amnesty.

Cool. I'm Pro-reform and I am against it too. Amnesty is not the answer. By that I mean, giving them citizenship it not a good idea.
We should legalize them because obviously, mass deportation and self deportation won't happen for several realistic reasons. And they can later obtain citizenship if they want.
In short, I am opposed to it.

i the American taxpayer cannot no longer afford these unwanted stepchildren from mexico. they need to go home and clean up their nasty country and make it a success. they are destroying American. I can barely afford to send my two girls to college but mexicans come here and claim minority status right away and dig into the freebies our government hands out to them.
