im a mexican/american..everyday as i go to work in my mercedes benz i see 4/5 young WHITE men begging for money..i've yet to see a latin person living under a bridge begging for money...i have respect for people that come from cuba for example and 3 to 4 years later they own their own buisness.i read on here that immigrants dont pay taxes..WRONG.they do, everyone pays taxes!.get your facts straight...btw ...the latino vote will DEFINE the upcoming elections..blacks are no longer the largest minority in the u.s..latinos are..bring on the "angry" responses.i really do enjoy your ignorance!.i probably make more money than you.guess what im mexican...hahaaaaaa

It's obvious she expected the "angry" responses, and after reading many of these boards, I can see why. This is a subject people are so very, very mad about. Why? a lot of misinformation. Of course she's right, everyone does pay taxes. In my state, people without a valid SS# can't get "free housing", medicaid, or any other state benefit, however, they do pay taxes toward that fund. If their children get the benefits, well, they are American citizens. I understand peoples anger on both sides, and hear from people all the time on the subject. My best offer, is before you think you know all the answers, look into it a little bit further. I think you will find that if your mind expands, you can see both sides of the issue. Just don't go making your decisions without being completely informed. and ya, I think the woman who wrote it went about it the wrong way, but her overall viewpoint is one to be thought about.

I have several problems with her question. What year is her Mercedes Benz. If she is not a legal citizen how did she register it or get a drivers license. If she is not a legal citizen there is no way that she is paying taxes. If she is not a legal citizen she or no other illegal immigrants will be placing votes for the President of the US in 2008!!! The country of Mexico is run down, corrupt and socialistic systems are just straight up wrong as far as sharing fair prosperity with all.

Also, we do not want the money in the American economy or local economies like in my little town taken out illegally and sent to another country which hurts our economy. That is probably why we have economy problems now.

Truth is, the illegals just have a bicycle though. They don't want to spend money here. They want to save it and take it back to their country in the end. If they wanted to really stay here and legally, and learn the language, lots more would be driving Mercedes and not bicycles.

Where I live I mostly see young white men begging for money (usually for meth). And where I work in downtown, it's full of black men aggressively panhandling for money. They look healthy enough to get a job.
I never see Asians or Hispanics begging for money.

I think the BIg thing that most people here are missing is that there is a BIG difference between an ILLEGAL Immigrant and a LEGAL Immigrant.
Legal = Someone that has a job, votes, pays taxes and contributes to this country.
Illegal = Some one that takes a job for lessmones, pays no taxes, does not follow our laws, pays no taxes, sucks up money set aside for AMERICANS, pays no taxes, lives off the government, pays no taxes, whines about discrmination, pays no taxes, gets free medical, pays no taxes, gets HUD housing, pays no taxes, gets food stamps, pays no taxes, breeds so that they can get more money form the governemnt, pays no taxes, and did I mention sthat an Illegal PAYS NO TAXES?
Since Illegals pay no taxes they do not put anythign back into the pot, they only take take take.
