Not really.. It would aid our border patrolmen, but the root of the problem is not having a fence, or having high tech surveillance equipment. If you really want to end or impact illegal immigration, the govt has to go after employers, landlords and state/city govt that do business with illegals.
To illegals, this is the land of opportunity, they cross the border, they come here, and they get work right away, they get apt.'s right away, their women give birth and get free health services from some local govt. Can you blame these people? So to end it, we need to make it impossible for illegals to get work, housing, free human services (medical, food assistance, rental assistance, education, etc.)

It's hard to say at this point what will be done with the money. At least it proves they know what we want.

We can only hope. But what the gov't. won't understand is there will have to be laws enforced to curb illegals from criminally entering the country.
