When a person is deported and they have no family in their country of origin do they just drop them off at?

the airport and leave them there to fend for themselves? I've always wondered that. When they land do they just say "ok see ya"? LOL

I would think so. that is usually what they do to criminals when they let them out of jail so why would deportation be any different?I think they also let the local police know what is going on.
